Intabula is a Markdown notes app. Any folder of notes can grow into a workspace with fields, tables and boards. The agent works through a fixed set of operations, and every change it makes shows up with a diff.

One example. Asked for open roles that fit, the agent searched the web, made a note per job, worked out the columns and built the board. Then it drafted a cover letter inside each note. Every edit is in the activity feed with a diff.

Write first

Every note is a Markdown file in a folder you pick. Open the same folder in Obsidian, search it with grep, sync it through iCloud. The index Intabula keeps is a cache that rebuilds in seconds, so deleting the app loses nothing.

If you need to get something down before you know where it belongs, start a draft. It waits on Home and in ⌘K until you save it into a collection.

An agent that works on your notes

Ask it to clean up a messy note, split a long one into several, or talk through what you wrote. It can create, update, rename, move and link notes, search the vault, and manage views. It has no shell and can't touch files directly.

Every change appears in the activity feed with a diff, and approval mode shows you each edit before it's written. Conversations are saved on your Mac, and ⌘K searches them along with your notes.

Add structure when a folder needs it

When several notes share a field like status or due, Intabula offers to make it a column. The folder then works as a table you can sort and filter, or a board grouped by any field. Ask for "a board of open tasks by status" and the agent saves it to your sidebar.

You can also start from the other end: ask the agent to research something, and it creates the notes, works out the columns and builds the board.

Odd values and broken links show up in a needs-attention inbox. Intabula doesn't reject or change them on its own.

Encrypted collections

Mark a collection as encrypted and its notes are stored as ciphertext on disk. The agent can't open them, search never sees their content, and anything the folder syncs to gets only encrypted bytes.

You unlock with a password each session, and it locks again when you quit. The password isn't stored anywhere, and there's no way to recover it.

Code next to your notes
Attach a repository to a collection as a read-only linked folder. The agent can read the code and its git history and cite the commit in a decision record. It only writes inside your vault.
iPhone
Search, table and board views, editing, drafts, and its own agent that runs on your OpenRouter key. Keep the vault in iCloud Drive and it syncs like any other folder. Git, Syncthing and Dropbox work too.
Shared folders
Share a Groceries folder in iCloud Drive and add it as an external collection. When your partner sets status: got at the store, you see it. The columns travel with the folder.
Obsidian vaults
Point both apps at the same folder. Search ignores accents, so "Lodz" finds "Łódź".
Bots
A bot does one job on a schedule inside one collection, such as tidying new entries in an inbox every morning. It works best when you can describe the job in a few exact sentences.
